Welcome to CALL to Action, a program run by The LOFT LGBTQ+ Community Center. We connect local activists, organizers, and community leaders in Westchester and Putnam Counties to share resources, make planning events easier, and create safer, more welcoming communities.

our history & mission

Since 2022, CALL to Action has been a community network bringing together more than 20 volunteer-led LGBTQ+ groups. With The LOFT’s over 40 years of experience in organizing community events and support, our aim is to help these groups grow stronger over time, support local Pride celebrations, and promote meaningful change throughout the region.

What we offer member organizations

Organizers Retreats (Spring & Fall): We hold two in-person retreats each year. Our Spring Retreat is for getting ready and planning before Pride, while our Fall Retreat provides a place to talk about what happened after Pride, share wins and challenges, and review our advocacy efforts. 

As a CALL to Action member, your organization receives ongoing support, increased local exposure, and training led by experts to build your skills: 

Monthly Workshops: Sessions that focus on leadership, understanding trauma, advocating for local policies, supporting trans communities, creating safety plans, and organizing events. 

Digital Resource Library & Regional Calendar: A central place where you can find and download helpful guides (like flag-raising toolkits, Pride event planning, and policies on including TGNCNB individuals) as well as a shared calendar for the region to coordinate community events and avoid scheduling overlaps. 

Direct Organizers Network: A communication group that links you with other leaders in different towns and cities to share ideas, work together on projects, and help promote each other's efforts.
