lgbtq+ fiber craft circle
The LGBTQ+ Fiber Craft Circle is a welcoming and inclusive space for crafters of all experience levels—beginners are especially encouraged to join! This group offers a supportive environment to knit, crochet, and create alongside fellow LGBTQ+ community members.
While some materials are provided, participants are encouraged to bring their own supplies. Recommended materials include size 8 straight bamboo needles, DK, worsted, or aran weight yarn (often labeled as weight 3 or 4), and a bag to carry your items. Beginners are advised to avoid plastic or metal needles, as bamboo options are easier to work with and widely available. Natural fiber yarns such as cotton or wool—or blends of the two—are ideal, while 100% acrylic yarn is discouraged due to its difficulty for those just starting out.
The Fiber Craft Circle meets on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM at The LOFT LGBTQ+ Community Center. Come connect, create, and craft in a friendly, affirming space!
